The tree is medium size and can grow to a height of up to 25 meters. Its trunk can grow up to a thickness of 60 centimeters in diameter. The leaf size ranges between 10 to 20 cm, with a pale colour at the bottom and light green at the top. The bark of the tree is smoother as compared to other trees, and is dark grey in color. As the tree gets old, the bark gradually turns greyish-brown and becomes ridged and scaly. The tree’s seeds can be found in “keys.” These keys fall from the branches of the tree when the summer sets in. The seeds have a type of”wings” that allow them to be carried by the wind over long distances.
